The difference between teams that compete and teams that consistently grow and perform at their best, often comes down to the mental game. Goal setting, focus, confidence, and learning from failure aren’t just traits, they’re skills that can be trained.

These workshops are built to work alongside the systems you already have in place with 1 hour of deep work before the workshop to integrate strategies into your existing systems. The 1.5 hour workshop itself will have athletes leave with tools they can apply immediately to become more focused, more resilient, and more consistent. Our next 2 weeks of follow up together allow time to review the strategy implementation and extend further support.

This isn’t about replacing what you do, it’s about reinforcing it with proven strategies that support your goals and unlock theirs.

charles armstrong-hicks, LICSW

I’m Charles, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a decade of experience in mental health and background as a collegiate athlete. I now channel all of that knowledge into helping athletes gain a mental advantage through science-backed strategies.

What drives athletic greatness is your belief that real performance isn’t just about confidence, focus, or discipline on the surface—it’s about the foundation beneath them. That foundation is self-mattering—the belief that you matter to yourself, can rely on yourself, and see your own worth, regardless of outcomes.

When athletes begin to understand their own worth—not just as competitors, but as people—their ability to perform under pressure transforms.

It's an interconnected view of mental performance. Confidence, focus, and discipline are the core pillars we’ll strengthen—but surrounding them are research-backed insights on things like anger, quitting and goal abandonment, happiness, procrastination, grit, passion, time management, and visualization. Each one influences how you show up when it matters. We’ll use that knowledge to our advantage.

This work is never one-size-fits-all. Together, we’ll explore what is best for you and make adjustments to any workshop as needed to support your athletes ability to compete at the highest level.

“You as you are, is all you need to get to where you want to go.”
